THE WHODUNITS

The real isthmus and headland
THE ISTHMUS

A whodunit set in 1878 on a storm-swept coast in the UK, and the first in the Dr Albert Finemore Mystery Series

It's 1878, and as a fierce gale batters the west coast of Cumberland, an amateur medical sleuth, Dr Albert Finemore, prepares to sacrifice his knowledge and even his life to solve a series of unexplained deaths.

Bo's comments:
The full-strength version, upgraded from the original novella, and heaps of fun to write! It's now out to 40,000 words, in the process of sending it out to publishers.

The Isthmus itself really DOES exist (see the above photo) - but not in Cumbria! The local council removed some dilapidated boatsheds from the area; I crossed the isthmus and walked onto the headland and saw the Inn, the storm - and The Captain.

THE LAKE DISTRICT MYSTERY (working title)

The second of the Albert Finemore mysteries set in the Lakes District of Cumberland (Cumbria). Currently in the ideas/planning stages. I have several books on the way to help me decide on the right area - once I have the setting, I'll have the story.

Bo's comments:
In the ideas stage. I just have to write about the Lakes District in beautiful Cumbria

MYSTERY IN DUMFRIES (working title)

The third Albert Finemore mystery set in the Dumfries area. Currently in the ideas/planning stages

Bo's comments:
In the ideas stage, thanks to the friendly staff at Dumfries and Galloway Life magazine.

MURDER ON HOLY ISLAND (working title)

The fourth  Albert Finemore mystery set in the Lindisfarne region, Northumberland. Currently in the ideas/planning stages

Bo's comments:
And ditto about Lindisfarne, Northumberland...
